MORE ABOUT ME

If you are an MTV freak, then you just cannot miss Amrita Arora. A delightful smile and round sparkling eyes just light up the screen. This five feet five inch tall Aquarian girl started her career in showbiz industry as a model and then graduated to acting in films. Initially known as Malaika Arora’s lil sis Amrita earned recognition through regular video jockeying on MTV. She also featured in ads such as Ponds, Elle 18, Sunsilk, Fruitamins and After Smoke. Her most memorable experience was winning the MTV VJ hunt in 1998. She remained one of the most popular VJs on Mtv for more than 2 years hosting shows such as MTv Housefull and Mtv Chillout on Mtv India. Her most favourite MTv VJs are sister Malaika and Jenny Mcarthy.

Amrita made her Bollywood debut opposite Fardeen Khan in flop film Kitne Door Kitne Paas. She followed her forgettable debut with Vikram Bhatt’s Awara Paagal Deewana in which she was reduced to playing a glam doll but the song 'Dilli ki sardi' was an eye-opener for the film industry people towards her.

The hazel eyed beauty courted controversy much before her first release. Rumors linked her to a crop of stars, from crooner Kamal Khan to Fardeen Khan and Salman Khan. Recently, she made news when her controversial flick Girlfriend opposite Isha Koppikar got released. The movie based on lesbian relationships bombed at the box office, but Amrita looked sizzling hot in it.

A typical family person, Amrita admires her mom and is extremely fond of her sister and wants to follow her footsteps. She did her schooling from St Anthony..s Chembur in Mumbai and graduated from Jai Hind College. Like every young girl, Amrita is crazy for Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. She wears clothes by Wendell Rodericks, Tarun Tahiliani, Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla and her favorite designer brands are DKNY, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger and Prada. Strangely enough, Amrita doesn’t like to play Holi, “I have never played Holi, and will never play it. Nothing against the festival, but I will never play Holi”, she says.

Her forthcoming movies include Sharth opposite Tusshar Kapoor, Mahesh Manjrekar's Rakht, Deh and a Telegu film, to be directed by Teja. She also got Kayanaat, a Charlie Angels kind of venture along with Diya Mirza and Sonali Kulkarni, Sajid Nadiadwala's Mujhse Shaadi Karogi with Salman and Ajay Chandok's Team - The Force with Sohail Khan.

Mischievous, ambitious, confident, charming and focused Amrita has carved a name for herself. This petite actress is one to watch out for!

Celina Jaitley( Barbie)official

hi everyone this is Celina Jaitley, this page belongs to me im not a fan I am Celina Jaitley. I only made this account for my fans. Its easy way to talk to them. People who don't know me im Celina Jaitley Indian actress, was born in Kabul, Afghanistan on 9th June 1981 to an Afghan mother and Indian father. Iam daughter of a Punjabi father who was an Indian Army officer. My mother is an Afghan and is a child psychologist by profession. My schooling was done all over the country due to the frequent transfers of my father. I have to change thirteen schools till my Board exams. Presently my family stays in Bangalore. I'v Past five generations have served the army and there was a point of time in my life, when i was also tinkering with the idea of taking the Combined Defense Services exam.

But destiny willed otherwise. I graduated in Commerce and fetched a marketing job for a Cell phone company in Kolkatta. There I participated in a local beauty contest just for the heck of participation and to everybody's surprise I emerged victorious. This gave me a boost and I sent my pictures for the Miss India contest. Just a day before the preliminary rounds were to begin I got the invitation to participate. Soon I walked away with the coveted, Miss India crown bagging almost every title from Best Skin to Best Clothes to MTVs most wanted.

This title win enabled her to participate in the Miss Universe title. But Indian girls had won it for three consecutive years. There was an immense pressure on me persona with press flooding her with questions about rigging. I was weighed down by this pre -contest skepticism and it did cast its impact on the final outcome. I was adjudged fourth runner up from amongst 83 contestants.

My latest movies are 'Shakalaka Boom Boom' and 'Red: the dark side'. 'Dulha Mil gaya', 'Kaash Tumse Mohabbat Na Hoti', 'Unusual Love Story', 'One Night', 'No Entry II'.

I'm young right now; I have a lot of time in the future to de-glam myself. Now I want to do roles of my age which are glamorous; because I have that image - I'm a glamorous woman. I wanted to be called a good and a good-looking actress."

About my cameo in Silsiilay (2005): "In Sisilay I have a special appearance; it was a strange experience because I can never imagine being a woman like the one I've portrayed. I'm in love with a married man, much older to me and who has a son her own age. It's a complex character, and I loved it."

When asked which character she would like to play in a remake: "I would like to play Meena Kumari's role in Pakeezah, Waheeda Rehmanji's role from ..Chaudavi Ka Chand' and Rekha's role in ..Umrao Jaan'." (erosentertainment.com interview, 2005)

"I think Fardeen and I have a special chemistry on-screen, I don't deny that. At the same time I think Hrithik and I will be great together. Our physical features will work well to create that chemistry - especially the combination of our height, the light eyes; together we'll have a good screen presence." (erosentertainment.com interview, 2005)

On turning down the lead in Julie (2004): "I turned down Julie because I didn't agree with the reasoning of the protagonist in the story, who resorts to prostitution because her man ditches her. I didn't see why any educated girl would take such a drastic step. I take up roles that I mentally agree with, and this was not such a role." (Stardust, April 2005)

"When I intend to settle down, I'm just gonna tell my parents to find someone for me. I have lost faith in myself to make the right decision as far as a man is concerned. Sean (her ex-boyfriend) was a big lapse in judgment."

"It's scary, if you think of it. You read these stories all the time in the magazines, how someone got duped in a relationship. You think, this could never happen to me, except, it does. Until you're a part of that statistic, you never believe that this could be you."
"I rate myself 8 as an actor...but everybody doesn't share the same viewpoint."

Priyanka Chopra Ruffled by Ashutosh Gowariker's Comments at the IIFA

Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra Get Sweaty Together

Here's a cute little story for you on one of Bollywood's cutest new couples! Even though there are reports that Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor have broken up, it seems that there isn't much truth to that. After Priyanka returned from her trip to Macau, China to attend (and win the award for Best Actress) at the IIFAs, she paid a visit to her 'Kaminey' costar's apartment, which coincidently is quite close to her own place.

It seems the physically fit couple decided to head over to a nearby gym to keep their hot bodies in shape and workout together. According to sources the couple walked in together at ten thirty at night with Priyanka a few steps behind Shahid to try and make it look like they didn't come in together... Come on guys who are you trying to fool here?! Then of course they sweated it out in the gym and exercised together for over an hour before they decided to call it a night.

They ended up leaving the gym close to midnight. So what did they do after that? Hmm... well we'll leave that up to you to speculate!

Kareena Kapoor Wants Lovemaking Scene Axed

If you were expecting to see a passionate lovemaking scene between Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in their film, 'Qurbaan' then you might be disappointed when the film releases. Why? Well it seems that Kareena may be having second thoughts about including such a scene in the film. It's been publicized that Rensil D'Silva directed the film and it will feature a few intimate scenes.

There is one in particular that comes at a crucial part in the film for which Kareena bared what is being called "a substantial part" of her back. Now having shot the scene, it seems she's having second thoughts about it appearing in the film.

Kareena was quoted as saying, "I've done kissing scenes earlier. But the lovemaking scene is explicit by my yardstick." She also added though Saif made her comfortable before shooting the scene, she feels like she won't be able to watch the scene with her parents. She hopes to bring it up with Rensil D'Silva and producer Karan Johar before the final print for 'Qurbaan' is ready, so this means there is a chance that the scene will be cut out.

So we want to know what you guys think about Kareena filming the scene and then apparently changing her mind about it. Do you think she's justified in changing her mind and asking the film's director and producer to cut the scene from the finished product? Drop us a comment with your thoughts!

Kareena Kapoor's New Roles

Actress Kareena Kapoor has decided that she would be going for more reserved and conscious roles these days. We are all used to Kareena's role being the out-of-sight character, with strong and very assertive roles. Are we ready to let these images go just yet?

This time around however the Bollywood beauty has given up such roles and has taken up the role of a salwar-kameez-clad Punjabi role female in Raj Kumar Hirani's film 'Three Idiots' as well as Rensil's D'Silva's 'Kurbaan'.

"I play a quiet and nice Punjabi doctor", says Kareena about the role she plays in 'Three Idiots'. In 'Kurbaan', Kareena plays a role in the film that is close to her heart.

"I've got one of the best roles of my career. Rensil D'Silva is such a fine storyteller. I play a simple Delhi girl who finds out that her husband is a terrorist."

Kareena describes her previous characters as being very talkative, and now she really enjoys the new roles she has recently taken.'In 'Three Idiots', I'm soft and gentle and that's the real me" said Kareena.

According to Kareena "I like my silence to speak for me. Unfortunately, in this business I am constantly asked to voice my opinion on everything."

I guess we will just have to wait and see if the quiet Punjabi girl and the humble wife of a terrorist role that Kareena have taken on suits her.

What do you think about Kareena's new roles? Drop your comments below.

Bollywood Babes Don Sexy Saris

All things Desi may be the hot new trend in the Western world, but in India it seems that the Indians are adding a few Western influences to the culture. This has been seen recently in parts of the language, movies and now seems to be moving into the fashion world. Designers have begun to take trends from Western fashion and incorporate them into their more ‘traditional’ styles. Salwar Kameez started with designing pant suites and now even produces a three-quarter length trouser (Capri pants). We have also seen a difference in the saris found on the market and worn by our celebrity fashion icons. Sheer and sexy seem to be the twist that has taken on the more traditional (more covered) sari pattern. Check out the fashionistas below in some of their latest outfits.

Kareena Kapoor Chosen as Brand Ambassador for Gitanjali Jewels

Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor has been a coveted brand ambassador by many companies. Well now, we can add Gitanjali Group to her resume. They announced that she will be the brand ambassador for Gitanjali Jewels at a press conference at the Taj Lands End Hotel, Mumbai.

Prior to this announcement, Bipasha Basu was chosen as the ambassador for the Gitanjali Jewels, while Katrina Kaif was the brand ambassador for Gitanjali Group's Nakshatra brand. Looks like Bebo wanted her time to sparkle in these jewels too.

Kareena Kapoor commented by saying that "It's a real honor to be chosen as a Brand Ambassador for Gitanjali Jewels because I love jewelry and am pleased to be associated with 'Parineeta', 'Sagaaee' and 'ME Solitaire', each of which have such myriad of designs with both traditional and personal touch. I personally endorse it as I can totally depend on it as it is backed by the Gitanjali Group which brings in itself the quality and the trust."

Check out some videos posted below of the Bollywood princess herself decked out in jewels, endorsing Gitanjali Jewels.

Bollywood Babes Don Sexy Saris

The world’s most beautiful woman, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, has been in the international eye for quite some time now. However, when it comes to her sense of style, she tends to stick to elegant saris. This smoking red number is quite classy. Her sari is draped quite traditionally and her embellished blouse has just the right western touch. With her new hubby, Aishwariya seems to stay more conservative to please the in-laws.

Film Review: Love Aaj Kal

The Story:

"Love Aaj Kal" is a 2-sided love story which portrays love in today's time (Aaj) and love two decades ago (Kal).

"Love Aaj Kal" opens in London with Jai (Saif Ali Khan) and Meera (Deepika Padukone), who break up after a two year relationship due to practical reasons. Meera prepares to move to Delhi in pursuit of a career in conservation architecture while Jai stays in London with hopes of getting his dream job in San Francisco's Golden Gate Co.

To celebrate their split, they throw a "break-up party" where Jai is reminded by friends that he is now a wild stallion who can freely date more girls, while Meera can continue to value her professional success. But deep down inside, Jai and Meera both know that they are inseparable, so they decide to stay friends keeping in touch via net and phone calls. Just when Jai is set to move on with his life, he is approached by the café owner Veer Singh (Rishi Kapoor). Veer tries to convince a reluctant Jai that he is making a mistake by letting Meera go and begins to narrate his own 1965 Delhi love story with Harleen Kaur (Giselle Monteiro), to give Jai a peak into old-fashioned romance.

Shuttling between two different times, both love stories unravel simultaneously exploring the two different styles of love; ‘love aaj’ – Jai's passionless practical and bold approach to relationships and "love kal" – Veer's eternal pledge to make Harleen his wife in all lifetimes. Within the midst of Jai and Veer's love debate, Jai falls for a French girl named Jo and Meera starts dating her boss Vikram (Rahul Khanna).

Jai and Meera’s discovery about love in modern times is defined by the enduring yesteryear love of Veer and Harleen. Where their discovery leads them and how they come to terms with New Age love and Old Age emotions, is all revealed through their journey between London, San Francisco and New Delhi.

The Cast:

Saif Ali Khan as Jai Vardhan Singh – a heartless happy-go-lucky metro sexual guy who doesn't believe in love and for whom relationships only mean one-night stands. Saif Ali Khan as Young Veer Singh – a brooding romantic who is thunderstruck by Harleen's smile and makes a pledge to make her his wife in all lifetimes. Driven by his love, he overcomes the many odds piled up against him to win over Harleen.

Deepika Padukone as Meera Pandit – a fun-loving, career-oriented girl who doesn't know the meaning of love until she experiences the ups and downs of a real relationship versus a practical relationship. She works to restore old buildings, but in reality her emotions are being restored.

Rishi Kapoor as Present Veer Singh – the "Great Indian lover", he shares with Jai his sweet love story and convinces him that love today has a new language but carries the same emotions.

Giselle Monteiro as Harleen Kaur – a sweet and innocent girl-next-door who makes Veer fall in love with her demure smile.

Emraan Hashmi discriminated against as a Muslim

Bollywood actor, Emraan Hashmi was denied approval to buy a flat in Pali Hill, an upscale neighborhood of Mumbai. He was asked to give a "character certificate" to buy the house and the housing society has delayed the "no objection certificate" that allows his purchase of the home.

"It is a very tricky situation. Nobody will tell you that you will not be given a flat because you are Muslim. They did not tell me openly but it was very evident," Hashmi said.

Accompanied by his uncle, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Hashmi said, "I never thought that I had to get a character certificate. I want to know why I am not being given a NOC (no objection certificate)." Mahesh Bhatt told Emraan that it was important to bring attention to this issue because the discrimination of housing societies against Muslims is widespread.

Emraan has demanded that the state government take action.

This isn't the first time Mumbai has been in the news for housing bias against Muslims. Last year, actor, Zulfi Sayed said he was denied a home because he was a Muslim too.

The housing society considering Emraan and his wife's offer says it has not made any decision on whether to allow them to buy the home.

What do you think? Is Emraan Hashmi being discriminated against?
